Accounts Payable Specialist – with a twist!

Location: North Watford | Hybrid working available
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000

Think Accountancy & Finance are proud to be partnering with a market-leading UK business as they look to hire an experienced Accounts Payable professional-but this isn\’t your standard purchase ledger role.

If you\’re someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys a \”head down\” approach to work, but still values building strong internal and external relationships, this could be a perfect fit. This role offers stability within a growing business, alongside the chance to add variety and a fresh twist to your usual day-to-day.

We\’re looking for someone who understands the full end-to-end purchase ledger process, has a keen eye for numbers and detail, and is open to broadening their responsibilities across the wider finance function.

What you\’ll be doing:

Managing supplier accounts to ensure records are accurate and up to date
Handling high volumes of data (this isn\’t an analytical role, but attention to detail is key)
Liaising with key accounts and internal stakeholders
Performing bank reconciliations
Assisting with budgeting and supporting the wider finance team during month-end
Supporting year-end audit processes
Helping the Accounts Assistant with day-to-day finance tasks

What we\’re looking for:

Solid understanding of the full Accounts Payable cycle
A calm, reliable, and accurate worker who takes pride in their output
Strong Excel skills and confidence handling financial data
Excellent communication skills – able to build lasting relationships within a team-focused environment
Someone who isn\’t necessarily chasing a managerial path, but who wants variety and challenge within a hands-on finance role
