Role Overview
We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team, supporting the commercial delivery of new build construction projects across the West Midlands. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the commercial management of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account
- Support in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
- Help manage subcontractor procurement, including enquiries, analysis, and order placement
- Assist with valuations, variations, and cost reporting
- Monitor project costs and help ensure projects are delivered within budget
- Support with contract administration and document control
- Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role or a relevant placement/year out
- Degree or working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Good understanding of construction processes, ideally within new build projects
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Good communication and organisational skills
Desirable
- Experience working for a main contractor
- Knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT)
- Full UK driving licence
