Senior, Principal or Associate Structural Engineer
Think Recruitment are currently working with a busy consultancy who are looking to recruit a Structural Engineer at Senior, Principal or Associate level.Working with a talented team of Chartered, mid-level and graduate engineers our clients Structures Division are seeking a highly motivated Engineer to support the Structures Team in their Derby Office. The successful candidate will have sound experience in a wide variety of Structural Engineering projects and have experienced complex and challenging structural designs from conception to completion.Working on a broad range of structural projects, this high performing team of professionals are looking for an engineer who is aspiring to be a technically excellent design engineer working on a diverse and generally challenging range of projects, incorporating bespoke new build structures, refurbishment and heritage works.To be considered for this role you will ideally have:Minimum 2:1 BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalentAt least 5 years post qualification experience in civil and structural engineeringFull UK driving license and own transportChartered or near-chartered status with a relevant body (MICE or MIStructE)Experience in surveying and refurbishmentGood structural forensic and analytical skillsExperienced in masonry, timber, steel and concrete designDetailed knowledge of structural design and detailing using all relevant UK and European codes of practiceOn a day to day basis, in this exciting role you will be responsible for:Producing preliminary design solutions and reviewing with clients as part of design strategyProducing detailed designs, calculations and specifications and technical reviewsAttendance at design, project progress, and client engagement meetingsLiaising with contractors, clients, third party organisations and stakeholders, answering queries in relation to technical detailingDesign in all forms of construction including steelwork, reinforced / precast concrete, masonry and timberStructural appraisals of commercial, industrial and residential structuresManagement of projects cost and programmeManagement of sustainability criteriaComplying with designers\’ duties under the CDM RegulationsProduce sketches, drawings and writing structural appraisal reportOur client value and promote a positive work-life balance and in addition to an attractive salary also offer an annual profit share, dependent on profits, but averages at 2.5% of salary, annual salary reviews, AXA private healthcare, relocation fee, stakeholder pension, professional subscriptions, professional exam fees, engineering training courses, CPDs, workshops and mentoring etc, so if you feel this role is for you, or to discuss your next career move in more detail, please call or apply today
