A Technical Support Surveyor is required for a reputable housing association in Birmingham. We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Technical Support Surveyor to join our Maintenance Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically competent professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services within customers' homes.
You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction. Working closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders, you will provide expert technical support, manage inspections, and ensure that all works meet regulatory and organisational requirements.
Position: Technical Support Surveyor
Salary: £45,074 + 4% pay award from 1st April 2026
Location: Mobile role (Worcester, Birmingham, Coventry)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support in the delivery and development of responsive repairs and maintenance services
- Plan, organise and undertake pre- and post-inspections, preparing detailed schedules of works using NHF Schedule of Rates
- Carry out Damp and Mould inspections in line with statutory requirements and relevant timeframes
- Identify and manage works under CDM Regulations where applicable
Qualifications and Experience:
- IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
- Degree or HNC/HND in a Building-related subject
- Evidence of continued professional development in technical building knowledge
We are looking for a technically confident, customer-focused professional who is calm, polite, firm, and fair in their approach. You will be comfortable working in customers' homes, able to explain technical matters clearly, and committed to delivering excellent service.
You must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle insured for business use, as this is a fully mobile role.
Manager's Insight: This is a position of real responsibility, where you will help turn technical assessments into practical, high-quality outcomes. You will be part of a responsive and collaborative surveying team, working across the Midlands on a wide range of social housing repairs while supporting contractor management and customer satisfaction.
