Working Site Manager - Painter & DecoratorRate: £280-£300 per shiftHours: 8pm-6amDays: Sunday-Thursday nightsSector: Shopfitting / Retail RefurbishmentThe RoleWe're looking for a Painter & Decorator who holds SMSTS and is comfortable stepping up into a hands‑on Site Manager role.The company specialises in refurbishing high street retail stores, with the work taking place overnight while stores are closed.You’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the site, Health & Safety and managing the small team, but the role is very much hands‑on. When you’re not managing the site, you’ll be expected to get your tools out and carry out painting and decorating works yourself.You’ll have a Joiner and Labourer working alongside you.Your RoleTake responsibility for the site during the night shiftManage Health & Safety and ensure site procedures are followedCoordinate the Joiner and LabourerComplete site checks, inductions and relevant paperworkKeep the team on programme and ensure the work is completed each nightLiaise with the Project Manager where requiredCarry out painting and decorating worksHelp with general refurbishment works where requiredBring your own decorating tools and be prepared to get stuck inEnsure the store is left clean, safe and ready for the next stage of worksAbout YouWe're specifically looking for a time‑served Painter & Decorator who has moved into Site Management or has Site Management experience.You’ll need:Strong Painter & Decorator backgroundValid SMSTS - essentialPrevious experience managing a site or supervising a teamGood understanding of Health & SafetyConfidence managing a small teamExcellent painting and finishing skillsYour own toolsA hands‑on attitude - you're happy to pick up the brush/roller and get involvedRetail, shopfitting or refurbishment experience would be advantageousComfortable working night shiftsThe Important BitThis is a hands‑on role.We don't need a Site Manager who wants to sit in the office all night. We're looking for a Painter & Decorator with SMSTS who can take control of the site when required but is equally happy getting stuck into the decorating works.You’ll spend part of the shift managing the site and Health & Safety, with the rest of the night spent painting, decorating and helping the team get the store over the line.Shift PatternSunday-Thursday | 8pm-6am£280-£300 per shift, depending on experience
