Experienced and professional Waste & Recycling Operative required to work with a leading and highly reputable organisation. My client requires an experienced Waste & Recycling Operative to join their award-winning environmental services division on an ongoing temporary contract.

Location: Monmouthshire

Pay: £16.78 per hour (Paid weekly via umbrella)

Hours: 37 Hours

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing

Responsibilities:

  • Collect domestic and commercial waste and recycling in line with scheduled collection routes
  • Collect food, garden, residual, hygiene and dry recycling from households and businesses
  • Return bins and receptacles safely after collections, ensuring public areas remain clean and accessible
  • Complete assisted collections and additional allocated collections as required
  • Monitor and report contaminated recycling in accordance with procedures
  • Deliver a professional, polite and courteous service to members of the public
  • Support additional environmental duties including litter picking, town centre sweeping and bulky waste collections when required
  • Work safely in line with Health & Safety policies and safe working practices

Requirements:

  • Must have experience within waste collection, recycling or environmental services
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a physically demanding role
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Must be reliable, punctual and committed to delivering a high-quality service
  • Willingness to work Bank Holidays and occasional weekends when required
  • HGV Licence desirable for relief driving duties (higher rate paid when applicable)
