Experienced and professional Waste & Recycling Operative required to work with a leading and highly reputable organisation. My client requires an experienced Waste & Recycling Operative to join their award-winning environmental services division on an ongoing temporary contract.
Location: Monmouthshire
Pay: £16.78 per hour (Paid weekly via umbrella)
Hours: 37 Hours
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing
Responsibilities:
- Collect domestic and commercial waste and recycling in line with scheduled collection routes
- Collect food, garden, residual, hygiene and dry recycling from households and businesses
- Return bins and receptacles safely after collections, ensuring public areas remain clean and accessible
- Complete assisted collections and additional allocated collections as required
- Monitor and report contaminated recycling in accordance with procedures
- Deliver a professional, polite and courteous service to members of the public
- Support additional environmental duties including litter picking, town centre sweeping and bulky waste collections when required
- Work safely in line with Health & Safety policies and safe working practices
Requirements:
- Must have experience within waste collection, recycling or environmental services
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a physically demanding role
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must be reliable, punctual and committed to delivering a high-quality service
- Willingness to work Bank Holidays and occasional weekends when required
- HGV Licence desirable for relief driving duties (higher rate paid when applicable)
