Estate Caretaker required to work in Leeds with a leading Yorkshire based Maintenance & Repairs contractor on their social housing contracts. We are looking for a team player who is hard working and keen to learn with a can-do attitude. You will be working in people's homes, so you need to be friendly and approachable with good communication skills. You also need to be organised and recognise the importance of delivering good customer service.

The main responsibility of this role is to deliver caretaking duties across the region working as part of a double-up team. You will be expected to carry out duties such as high- and low-level dusting, cleaning, vacuuming as well as some caretaking tasks as required. These include tasks such as communal cleaning, collection of fly tipping, compliance testing of Fire Alarms, AOV, Emergency lighting, descaling, and water testing when required covering for absences. You need to have an eye for detail and dedication to accuracy and completeness, being meticulous when completing work.

  • Pay: £16.78 per hour (Via umbrella - Paid Weekly)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Location: Leeds and surrounding areas
  • Duration: 3 months (potentially rolling)

The role of Caretaker will include:

  • Undertaking general caretaking duties including cleaning, removing bulk waste and compliance testing, this may also include communal areas such as stairs, doors and windows.
  • Caretaking tasks to include litter picking and general upkeep, bins stores, dog bins, jetting.
  • Working with customers to resolve issues and improve services.
  • Communicating effectively with management and updating paper and electronic records daily.
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in a suitable condition.

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience in a similar role or completing similar tasks.
  • Practical experience in operating hand tools and light machinery.
  • Some experience of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

This role will involve driving on company business. To drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
