My Client is looking for a Health & Safety professional to play a key role in supporting management teams across a well establish Housing Association. You\'ll help drive the implementation of our Safety Management System and champion the ongoing development of a positive safety culture throughout the business.

As the Subject Matter Expert for our Construction Division, you\'ll provide specialist technical support and to the Client Team, ensuring high standards are consistently achieved.

In this role, you\'ll also:

  • Advise and guide all areas of the business on employer obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) and all other relevant legislation.
  • Act as Deputy Group Health & Safety Subject Matter Expert, stepping in for the Group Head of Health & Safety when required.
  • Provide line management for the Health & Safety team in the Head\'s absence

This is an exciting opportunity to influence and shape our approach to health, safety, and wellbeing across the Group.

We\'re looking for someone with:

  • NVQ level 5 / Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Practice or equivalent or equivalent / greater with evidence of current CPD.
  • Holds CMIOSH / Graduate IOSH status
  • Experience of working within Health and Safety in a high-risk organisation where a risk-based approach is taken, for example; construction / Housing.
  • Experience of managing fire, legionella and asbestos risks
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing health and safety improvements at strategic an operational level.
  • Ability to engage with internal and external customers and enforcement bodies building positive relationships and fostering a positive health and safety culture
  • Strong ability to communicate persuasively across all levels with internal and external customers.
  • Focus on delivery of products and services through customer engagement and understanding.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use as travel across Staffordshire and Shropshire will be required as part of the role.
