Working Site Manager - Painter & Decorator Rate: £280-£300 per shift Hours: 8pm-6am Days: Sunday-Thursday nights Sector: Shopfitting / Retail Refurbishment The Role We're looking for a Painter & Decorator who holds SMSTS and is comfortable stepping up into a hands-on Site Manager role. The company specialises in refurbishing high street retail stores, with the work taking place overnight while stores are closed. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the site, Health & Safety and managing the small team, but the role is very much hands-on. When you're not managing the site, you'll be expected to get your tools out and carry out painting and decorating works yourself. You'll have a Joiner and Labourer working alongside you. Your Role Take responsibility for the site during the night shift Manage Health & Safety and ensure site procedures are followed Coordinate the Joiner and Labourer Complete site checks, inductions and relevant paperwork Keep the team on programme and ensure the work is completed each night Liaise with the Project Manager where required Carry out painting and decorating works Help with general refurbishment works where required Bring your own decorating tools and be prepared to get stuck in Ensure the store is left clean, safe and ready for the next stage of works About You We're specifically looking for a time-served Painter & Decorator who has moved into Site Management or has Site Management experience. You'll need: Strong Painter & Decorator background Valid SMSTS - essential Previous experience managing a site or supervising a team Good understanding of Health & Safety Confidence managing a small team Excellent painting and finishing skills Your own tools A hands-on attitude - you're happy to pick up the brush/roller and get involved Retail, shopfitting or refurbishment experience would be advantageous Comfortable working night shifts The Important Bit This is a hands-on role. We don't need a Site Manager who wants to sit in the office all night. We're looking for a Painter & Decorator with SMSTS who can take control of the site when required but is equally happy getting stuck into the decorating works. You'll spend part of the shift managing the site and Health & Safety, with the rest of the night spent painting, decorating and helping the team get the store over the line.
