The Role

Working within an experienced Pre-Construction team, you will take responsibility for managing tenders from initial enquiry through to successful project handover. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Producing detailed analytical estimates and cost plans.
  • Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Preparing bills of quantities and pricing preliminaries.
  • Identifying project risks and opportunities throughout the tender process.
  • Carrying out value engineering exercises to maximise value for clients.
  • Attending tender adjudication meetings and presenting estimates to senior management.
  • Liaising with the commercial, design and operational teams to ensure buildability and programme considerations are incorporated.
  • Supporting post-tender negotiations with clients and consultants.
  • Providing a thorough handover to the construction team following successful project awards.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator with a main contractor.
  • Experience pricing new build and refurbishment projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of subcontractor procurement and supply chain management.
  • The ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • A collaborative approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience using estimating software alongside Microsoft Office.
