The Role
Working within an experienced Pre-Construction team, you will take responsibility for managing tenders from initial enquiry through to successful project handover. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Producing detailed analytical estimates and cost plans.
- Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Preparing bills of quantities and pricing preliminaries.
- Identifying project risks and opportunities throughout the tender process.
- Carrying out value engineering exercises to maximise value for clients.
- Attending tender adjudication meetings and presenting estimates to senior management.
- Liaising with the commercial, design and operational teams to ensure buildability and programme considerations are incorporated.
- Supporting post-tender negotiations with clients and consultants.
- Providing a thorough handover to the construction team following successful project awards.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator with a main contractor.
- Experience pricing new build and refurbishment projects.
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Excellent knowledge of subcontractor procurement and supply chain management.
- The ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- A collaborative approach with strong attention to detail.
- Experience using estimating software alongside Microsoft Office.
