Assistant Quantity Surveyor position in Bolton, North-West with a salary range of £30,000 - £45,000 (Dependent on Experience) plus benefits including Car Allowance, 34 Days Holiday, Free Parking, Healthcare, Training, Wellbeing Initiatives, Flexible Working, and Retail Discount.

This position is with a reputable social housing contractor in the North-West and surrounding areas, with a group turnover of £200m and a strong reputation for client relationships with councils and housing associations spanning over 100 years.

This opportunity involves commercially managing a contract to success, with responsibilities including:

  • Obtaining and evaluating information to guarantee realistic costs for works, goods, materials, and services for designated Social Housing refurbishments.
  • Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure information, costs, profitability, and value meet project requirements.
  • Managing the monthly CVR Process for your region.
  • Leading and managing a well-established team including QS/AQS/TQS and Commercial Admin.
  • Preparing and monitoring cash flow forecasts for designated projects.
  • Ensuring all invoices are submitted accurately for certified value to ensure timely payments.
  • Supporting the team in valuing and authorising payments to sub-contractors.
  • Liaising with Contract Managers to establish project specifications and requirements.
  • Attending and contributing to meetings with colleagues and clients, building relationships and demonstrating excellent communication skills.
  • Assisting in the preparation, processing, and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders to demanding timescales.
  • Monitoring contract progress, assessing, and reporting any changes that may affect project costs or timelines.
  • Assisting in the control of contract budgets.
  • Assisting in the development of the procurement programme.
