Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (1-hour lunch)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Customer / Resident Liaison Officer to work on a construction, regeneration and maintenance project in Birmingham. This is a long-term temporary opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact for residents throughout planned construction and maintenance works, ensuring residents are kept fully informed, supported and updated throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for residents throughout construction and maintenance works
  • Communicate with residents regarding upcoming, ongoing and completed works
  • Handle resident queries, concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner
  • Carry out pre- and post-project resident engagement
  • Prepare and distribute letters, newsletters and project updates
  • Work closely with site teams, contractors and project managers
  • Provide support to residents where works cause disruption
  • Attend resident meetings and community engagement events
  • Maintain accurate records of resident interactions, queries and issues
  • Ensure resident feedback is communicated effectively to the wider project team
  • Help build and maintain positive relationships between residents, contractors and the project team

About You

The ideal Customer / Resident Liaison Officer will have:

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing or resident-facing role
  • Ideally, experience within construction, housing, social housing, property or maintenance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence dealing with complaints, queries and difficult situations
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • A professional, approachable and empathetic manner
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Previous Job Titles That Could Suit This Role

Candidates with experience as a Resident Liaison Officer, Customer Liaison Officer, Tenant Liaison Officer, Housing Officer, Resident Engagement Officer, Community Liaison Officer, Customer Service Officer or Customer Advisor may be suitable for this position.
