We are currently recruiting for an Office Administrator / Accounts Assistant to join a growing and well-established business based in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who also has some exposure to accounts and finance. The role is varied and will suit someone who enjoys being busy, takes pride in keeping things organised and is looking for a position where they can become a valued part of a close-knit team. The successful candidate could come from a range of sectors, provided they have strong administration skills and some experience or understanding of accounts. Key Responsibilities Managing general day-to-day office administration. Preparing documents, reports and spreadsheets. Processing purchase and sales invoices. Matching invoices against purchase orders and supporting documentation. Assisting with supplier statement reconciliations. Supporting the sales and purchase ledger processes. Assisting with credit control and following up outstanding invoices. Processing expenses and maintaining accurate financial records. Liaising with suppliers, customers and subcontractors. Assisting with payments and resolving invoice queries. Providing information and documentation to the external accountant. Maintaining supplier and subcontractor records. Assisting with project and commercial administration. Chasing outstanding paperwork and information. Providing general administrative support to management and the wider team. About You We are looking for an individual who is organised, reliable and commercially aware, with excellent attention to detail. You may currently be working as an Office Administrator, Accounts Administrator, Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Sales Administrator or similar, and be looking for an opportunity to broaden your responsibilities. You will ideally have: Previous experience in an office-based administration role. Some experience with accounts, bookkeeping or finance administration. Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Good numerical and written communication skills. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. The ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload. A proactive approach and the confidence to use your own initiative. Strong communication skills and a professional manner
