A leading international legal practice seeks an Associate/Senior Associate for their Construction & Engineering team.

About the Role

Join a growing non-contentious Construction & Engineering team with a strong client base in infrastructure and residential development. The team acts for developers, funders, government bodies, and NHS Trusts, with particular expertise in transport, flood defence, and NHS projects. This role is to focus on large scale infrastructure projects – for example, train lines, tram lines, hydroelectric projects and motorways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate and advise on complex construction contracts (NEC4 and bespoke forms)
  • Attend and lead client meetings
  • Manage own caseload and supervise paralegals
  • Assist with fee proposals and tender documents
  • Contribute to business development activities
  • Maintain compliance with firm policies and data security protocols

Requirements

Essential:

  • At least 4 years PQE and experience in JCT's.
  • Strong academic background
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to build client relationships at all levels
  • Self-motivated team player who works well under pressure

Preferred:

  • Experience in construction contracts would be advantageous, but candidates with experience in commercial contracts/projects who are interested in working in infrastructure and projects will also be considered.
