A leading global law firm with offices in Newcastle is seeking a Solicitor with commercial contracts experience to join their small and close-knit in-house team. The team is open on level of qualification, and this would likely suit a junior to mid-level lawyer with experience in a commercial team at a law firm, somebody with experience as a legal counsel, or even someone on secondment in an in-house legal team.
The type of commercial contracts experience is not necessarily an issue - experience of procurement matters would be welcomed for instance. You’ll be given plenty of responsibility - this new person will work closely with the senior legal counsel in the team also based in Newcastle, and will have some mentoring responsibility for a more junior team member.
You’ll work with a good mix of internal and external clients, and get great visibility for what you do, including from the firm's other offices in London and elsewhere in the UK and abroad. Although this role is to be based in Newcastle, the firm envisages that a 2/3 day split between home and office would work in practice, making this potentially suitable for those who are based slightly further afield.
