We are looking for a pragmatically minded commercial solicitor to join a global trade association with offices in the UK for a six-month stint starting mid-February. This is a maternity cover role, reporting directly to the VP of Legal, and is 100% remote for anyone based in the UK. There is a chance that the contract will be extended.
The role is mostly focused on the sell-side. You will be handling the negotiation and management of contracts for the organisation's various products and services. The good news is that you won’t be starting from scratch; they have very well-established templates, playbooks, and processes in place. They need someone who can step into an existing system, get up to speed quickly, and keep the wheels turning.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be:
- Negotiating sell-side contracts and commercial agreements with members and partners.
- Providing clear, sensible advice on IP, licensing, and data privacy.
- Working closely with global teams in sales and operations to keep projects moving.
- Helping internal stakeholders navigate risk without being a roadblock.
Who are we looking for?
We need a qualified solicitor or barrister with UK admission and at least five years of experience. Ideally, you have spent time in-house already, perhaps in tech or telecoms, and you are comfortable in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone to start in mid-February to allow for a smooth handover.
The salary is competitive for a senior commercial counsel, and we have a lot of flexibility regarding hours. Whether you are looking for a full-time position or a part-time arrangement (around 30 hours per week), we are happy to chat about what works for you.
If you are available to start soon and want a straightforward, remote role with a great team, please get in touch with Adam Zdravkovic in the In-House team at Think Legal for a chat.
