Commercial Paralegal (In-House) | Manchester | Hybrid
An opportunity to join the in-house legal team of a leading UK technology business, working on the commercial contracts that sit at the heart of how it buys and sells.
The team is small, friendly and well regarded internally. Based in Manchester, it supports colleagues across a national office network and handles a broad mix of commercial work across public and private sector customers, suppliers and distribution partners. It’s a genuine step into in-house life, with real responsibility from day one and a business that actively backs people who want to progress.
What you’ll be doing
- Running the team’s legal inbox: triaging queries from across the business, pulling together context and supporting allocation of matters
- Reviewing and negotiating customer and supplier contracts
- Drafting bespoke agreements, such as referral agreements
- Giving ad hoc advice on issues like termination and disputes
- Spotting contractual risk and escalating where it matters
- Helping develop precedents, improve processes and carry out legal research
- Delivering contract and regulatory training to sales and partner teams
What you’ll bring
- Legal training: law degree/GDL and LPC (or equivalent), or working towards CILEX
- Hands‑on experience with commercial contracts, including drafting, review and negotiation
- A solid grasp of contract and tort law
- Ideally, some exposure to the IT or technology sector
- In‑house experience, or a secondment, or a clear understanding of how in‑house teams operate
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and the confidence to run your own caseload
What’s on offer
- Hybrid working: two days in the Manchester office, three from home
- Flexible start and finish times, with room for school runs
- A culture that genuinely invests in development, whether that’s stepping up, taking on more or moving across the business
