Commercial Data Solicitor (Senior Associate) | [Manchester] | 2-6 years' PQE
The opportunity
Our client, a top 50 UK law firm with a full-service national offering, is looking to strengthen its data and privacy capability within its commercial team. This is a strategic hire in a department with ambitious growth plans, and the firm is open to the right person joining in Manchester.
The team and the work
You will join a well-regarded data practice, ranked in the Legal 500, within a commercial department of around 40 lawyers. The work is advisory and non-contentious, with a strong commercial focus. It includes:
- Data protection and GDPR advice
- Drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and other data-related commercial documentation
- Data protection support on transactions
- Advising clients on the impact of data breaches and guiding them through their response
- You will work with clients across a broad range of sectors, including retail, hospitality and care, among others.
About you
- Qualified solicitor with 2-6 years' PQE, with solid experience in data protection and privacy
- Experience advising on GDPR compliance and data-related commercial contracts
- A pragmatic, commercially minded adviser who explains complex issues clearly
- Keen to build client relationships and contribute to the growth of the team
