A dynamic and entrepreneurial boutique law firm is seeking a talented Junior Commercial Litigator to join its rapidly expanding disputes practice. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in a high-growth firm offering exceptional career progression, high-quality work, and industry-leading financial incentives.
Founded by senior lawyers who previously led the successful expansion of a prominent litigation/IP practice in Manchester, the firm is now replicating that success independently. Built on a modern, lean operating model that leverages AI and innovative technology, the practice minimises overheads and invests directly in its lawyers—providing greater responsibility, enhanced remuneration, and accelerated progression.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will support the founders, working closely with a highly regarded disputes specialist on a broad range of commercial litigation matters. There is also significant exposure to intellectual property disputes, with training provided for candidates keen to develop expertise in this area.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting on a wide range of commercial litigation matters.
- Supporting intellectual property disputes, including issued proceedings.
- Managing cases through all stages of the litigation process.
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and legal correspondence.
- Conducting legal research and contributing to case strategy.
- Liaising with clients, counsel, and external stakeholders.
- Contributing to the continued growth of an ambitious boutique practice.
Candidate Profile
- Approximately 1 year’ post-qualification experience in Commercial Litigation.
- An interest in Intellectual Property Litigation is desirable but not essential.
- Strong analytical, drafting, and organisational skills.
- A proactive, hands‑on approach and willingness to take initiative.
- Commercial awareness and a solutions‑driven mindset.
- Motivated by performance‑based rewards and long‑term career growth.
- Excited by the opportunity to help build and shape a growing entrepreneurial practice.
This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer seeking faster progression, greater responsibility, and enhanced earning potential than typically offered by larger, traditional firms.
