An opportunity for a Regulatory lawyer to join an established national firm and work closely with a new Partner in Leeds.
This role offers exposure to a broad mix of regulatory, enforcement and contentious matters across both the public and private sectors. It's also an opportunity to help grow the team's profile and develop your own practice.
The work
The team advises on a varied range of regulatory issues, investigations and enforcement proceedings, including:
- Police and Health & Safety
- Financial Crime and Bribery
- Food Law and Product Liability
- Modern Slavery and Supply Chain Issues
- Transport and Operator Licensing
- Care Quality Commission matters
- Coroner's Inquests
- Licensing and Consumer Law Enforcement
- Local Authority Enforcement
You’ll advise clients on regulatory obligations, enforcement action and criminal prosecutions, with opportunities to assist with factual investigations.
The wider team also handles public law disputes, judicial reviews, commercial disputes, insolvency and professional indemnity matters, with some cases involving an international element.
Who would suit this?
A lawyer with around 2-6 years' PQE and relevant regulatory experience gained in a city, national or larger regional firm.
You’ll need to be comfortable handling a varied caseload, working with clients across different sectors and contributing to business development. The role would suit someone keen to build their experience and play an active part in developing the team's contentious practice.
