We are growing at a rapid pace and are looking for an HR & Operations Manager to join us and help drive our world-class team to new heights of performance, delivery and wellbeing.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced professional, focused on talent, culture, and team operations.

Your goal will be to own and improve all aspects of our people and culture strategy. You will help us recruit and retain the best talent, elevate the performance of our teams, implement efficient and effective back office processes, and create an ambitious, supportive, nurturing and fun environment that allows our staff and business to thrive. You will be a key part of the glue that holds our teams together.

You will be dynamic, forward thinking, innovative, open-minded, and interested in exploring new ways of working. Reporting to the COO as a leader in our Operations team and supported by one direct report, you will be a key driver of change and wellbeing.

This is a remote position working with teams in the UK and US.

Responsibilities will include:

TALENT

Recruitment: Driving and implementing our active recruitment and proactive talent pool strategies, including:

  • Creation, posting and monitoring of innovative and inspiring adverts and job specs for open and speculative roles
  • Management of recruitment processes including assessments and interviews, offers, and onboarding
  • Review of resumes and shortlisting of applicants
  • Engagement of specialist 3rd party recruiters where required

Performance: Talent management to ensure the highest levels of performance, engagement, and career progression, including:

  • Advising on and implementing best practices in employee performance management
  • Managing the ongoing processes of goal setting, employee review, and feedback to ensuring all staff reach their career development objectives
  • Working with leaders in the business to help them develop high-performing teams
  • Recommending training as required to support skills development in response to business needs

ENGAGEMENT & WELFARE

Onboarding & Nurturing: Onboarding new joiners and supporting the integration of all staff into our teams and culture, including:

  • Meeting all new staff 1-1 and taking them through our structure, products, values and people
  • Supporting staff with the challenges to engagement and welfare posed by remote work
  • Mentoring and coaching junior staff to support their professional development and integrate them into our culture

Culture & Wellbeing: Develop and drive culture, wellbeing, and staff engagement initiatives,including:

  • Live and lead on our values, preserving and encouraging the unique culture of the business
  • Developing and implementing a strategy for employee wellbeing and engagement
  • Work with volunteers in the business to plan online and offline events and initiatives to drive engagement and team morale
  • Oversee the purchasing and delivery of staff gifts and organising of staff parties

OPERATIONS

Human Resources: In addition to the broader role of elevating the performance and engagement of our staff, manage the day-to-day HR operations of the business, including:

  • Maintaining personnel files and records
  • Maintaining staff handbooks and policies and updating them in response to changes in employment laws
  • Handling day-to-day employment related queries from staff, and communicating important updates to our teams
  • Dealing with any issues that arise from staff, formally or informally, in line with best practices and employment law, including taking appropriate advice from advisers as necessary
  • Supporting staff with their visa and immigration requirements
  • Advising on and dealing with formal HR matters including grievances, performance or disciplinary issues, complaints, terminations and claims, should they arise

IT: Work with our outsourced IT provider and manage their activities, including:

  • Ensure smooth operation of the IT joiner/leaver process and facilitate staff IT equipment and software needs
  • Support the COO and IT team in ensuring that our technology suite meets the needs of the business
  • Facilitate roll-outs of new systems and processes to our teams

Logistics: Supporting teams in the business as needed with purchasing and logistical needs in the course of paid client work or business development initiatives

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources, with a strong focus on culture and ideally in an environment where positive culture is fundamental.
  • Experience within a marketing agency environment is desirable
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Hard-working, self-motivated, with the ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced, high-energy business.
