You will be encouraged to take ownership, build trusted client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Why This Firm?

  • Advises a broad range of charities and not-for-profits, including many high-profile and nationally recognised organisations
  • Plays an influential role within the sector, working closely with umbrella bodies and contributing to sector-wide technical guidance
  • Offers a supportive, inclusive culture with genuine flexibility and clear progression pathways
  • Provides exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to develop a visible specialism

Why Manchester?

  • A vibrant city known for its culture, music, sport, and food scene
  • Excellent transport links across the UK
  • Easy access to countryside and green spaces
  • A welcoming, diverse, and collaborative professional community

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead external audit engagements from planning through to completion
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, ensuring quality, budget, and deadlines are met
  • Act as a trusted adviser and main point of contact for clients throughout the year
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with boards, audit committees, and senior management
  • Develop, coach, and support audit teams at varying levels
  • Contribute to business development, proposals, and client presentations
  • Support the delivery of wider assurance services where appropriate

About You

  • ACA, ACCA or ICAS qualified (or equivalent)
  • Currently operating at Audit Manager level within external audit
  • Strong technical audit and accounting knowledge
  • Confident managing teams and engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable working across multiple engagements
  • Previous experience in the non-profit, charity, or social housing sectors is advantageous but not essential.
