Motor Vehicle SEND Support Worker

Location: Wigan

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Think FE are working with a supportive further education setting in Wigan to recruit a Motor Vehicle specialist to work with SEND students. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualification who may be coming straight from industry and is looking to move into education. You do not need to be a qualified teacher, but you will need the right attitude, patience, confidence, and a genuine interest in helping young people succeed.

Initially, you will join as a support worker, working closely with SEND learners in a practical motor vehicle environment. Over time, the client will support and develop you with a view to progressing into a teaching role within around 12 months, once you are settled. The college will also support candidates through a Level 3 TQ.

What we’re looking for:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle
  • Industry experience in motor vehicle, mechanics, automotive repair, or a similar area
  • A calm, supportive, and resilient approach
  • Confidence working with learners who may need additional support
  • A genuine interest in progressing into teaching
