Plumbing and Heating Assessor
Salary: Up to £41,000

A highly regarded land-based and vocational education college in Northamptonshire is seeking a Plumbing and Heating Assessor to join its established Construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced industry professional or qualified assessor who is passionate about supporting apprentices to achieve their full potential.
The Role As a Plumbing and Heating Assessor, you will be responsible for carrying out workplace assessments for apprentices, ensuring they meet apprenticeship standards and achieve successful outcomes. Working closely with employers and learners, you will provide tailored support, guidance, and constructive feedback throughout the apprenticeship journey.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting workplace assessments and reviews for plumbing apprentices
- Monitoring and recording learner progress using digital platforms and e-portfolios
- Supporting apprentices to achieve apprenticeship standards and qualifications
- Liaising with employers to coordinate assessment visits and learner development
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date learner records
- Ensuring assessments are carried out in line with awarding body and regulatory requirements
- Travelling regularly to employer sites across the region
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A relevant Plumbing qualification at Level 3 or above
- An Assessor qualification (TAQA, CAVA or A1)
- A teaching qualification at Level 4 or above, or willingness to work towards one
- Current industry knowledge and practical experience within Plumbing and Heating
- Experience of working with apprentices or learners
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- The ability to manage multiple learners and priorities effectively
- Salary of £41,140 per annum
- 38 days annual leave
- Teachers' Pension Scheme (28.68% employer contribution)
