A permanent SEND Tutor / Lecturer position is available in South Yorkshire on a full-time basis.

Salary: Qualified: £35,400 – £43,700 per annum; Unqualified: £27,900 – £29,000 per annum

Holiday & Benefits: 30 days holiday + Bank Holidays, with up to an additional 5 days for long service. Healthcare scheme and life cover included.

About the Role: An excellent opportunity has arisen for a passionate SEND specialist to join a supportive and inclusive further education college in South Yorkshire. You will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and support to learners with complex needs, ensuring excellent progress and person-centred outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging programmes for learners with SEND, including Autism, SLD and PMLD.
  • Develop personalised support plans, adapting resources and teaching strategies for individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, parents/carers and external agencies to support learner development.
  • Maintain accurate records, contribute to reviews and ensure safeguarding best practice at all times.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that inspires confidence and independence.

What do you need?

  • A recognised teaching qualification such as a Level 4 Award in Education & Training, PGCE or Cert Ed.
  • Minimum Level 2 (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • A degree in a relevant subject, with QTS or QTLS status.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting learners with SEND, particularly Autism, SLD, and PMLD.
  • A commitment to inclusive practice and delivering outstanding learner experiences.
  • Confidence in signing to aid communication and/or additional SEND-specific qualifications would be a distinct advantage.
  • Previous experience in a further education setting is highly desirable.
