We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist SEND Tutor to work within a well‐established provision supporting 16–24‐year‐olds with severe learning difficulties. This two‐year programme is designed to support learners as they transition from education into adult life, focusing on skills that foster independence, employability, community engagement, and practical English and maths for daily living.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‐quality, individualised learning opportunities to students with severe learning difficulties.
  • Help students develop independent living skills and confidence within their daily lives.
  • Support engagement in community activities, vocational projects, and supported volunteering/employment pathways.
  • Plan and deliver engaging sessions that reinforce functional English and maths.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to meet each student's learning and transition goals.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status or recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching learners with SEND, particularly at lower‐level and entry‐level.
  • A patient, flexible and creative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with learners and colleagues.
