Role Summary
The Head of Estates will lead and manage the college's estates services team, ensuring facilities are safe, well-maintained and ready to support high-quality teaching and learning. You will oversee a wide range of estates and maintenance functions, working closely with senior leadership and external partners to deliver strategic improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the estates services team to deliver a high-standard, compliant estate.
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance programmes across the campus.
- Support budget management for estates, including forecasting expenditure and controlling costs.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, premises regulations and statutory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to plan and deliver facilities improvements.
- Provide strategic insight into estates development aligned with operational college priorities.
Person Specification
Essential
- Strong technical knowledge of estates management, building services and facilities
- Proven experience in maintenance planning and estates operations within education or a similar complex environment
- Solid understanding of budget planning and financial control
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively
Desirable
- Broader estates or operations experience in a support capacity
- Willingness to develop into broader strategic responsibility
