A well-established and highly regarded further education college in Gloucestershire is looking to appoint an Engineering Lecturer to deliver engaging and industry-relevant teaching across Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering subjects from Level 2 through to Level 6. Teaching will span both full-time learners and apprenticeships across a variety of engineering pathways. The college delivers qualifications through awarding bodies including Pearson, City & Guilds, and EAL, offering a varied and rewarding teaching environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering units across Levels 2–6
- Teach across a range of engineering disciplines in both workshop and classroom settings
- Support both full-time learners and apprentices
- Develop engaging lesson plans and learning materials
- Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback
- Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and industry partners
- Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
You will need:
- Minimum HND qualification in Engineering
- GCSE Maths and English
- Relevant industry experience within engineering
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Passion for developing future engineering talent
It would also be helpful to have:
- Previous teaching experience with apprentices and full-time students
- Assessor Award
- PGCE, DTLLS, Certificate in Education, or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification
- Salary of £37,495-45,462 per annum
- 38 days annual leave plus Christmas closure
- Teachers’ Pension Scheme with 28.68% employer contribution
