Overview Wirral Metropolitan College is looking for dedicated learning support assistants and carers to join their team on flexible timetables, starting in September.

No classroom experience is required; a calm, patient and supportive attitude is valued.

The schedules are flexible and can be arranged to suit both you and the learner you will support.

Typical Day Support students in class on a 1‑to‑1 basis.

Assist with schoolwork under the supervision of teachers.

Help learners understand instruction through a variety of means, encouraging self‑confidence and independence.

Identify signs of distress and offer reassurance.

Implement care programmes, as appropriate.

Help and encourage learners to communicate.

Qualifications Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE C/4 or equivalent).

No prior experience needed – the team values potential and offers full support.

Role Details Contracts until the end of the academic year with a strong possibility of extension or a permanent position for the right people.

Flexible hours, with an effort to meet your preferred timetable.

Many temporary staff secure permanent roles and some progress to PGCEs and teaching positions.
