A well-established and highly regarded land-based college in the Midlands is looking to appoint a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Manager to support and promote a positive culture of health, safety, and wellbeing across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a health and safety professional who enjoys working collaboratively across departments, providing practical guidance, and helping to ensure a safe and compliant working environment within a unique educational setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster and promote a positive culture of Health & Safety across the College
  • Provide Health & Safety support and advice to staff and managers
  • Ensure practices and procedures comply with current legislation and College policies
  • Monitor and audit risk management policies and procedures
  • Deliver briefings and training on Health & Safety matters to individuals and teams
  • Produce accurate reports for a range of stakeholders
  • Provide occupational health support and advice across the College
  • Liaise with external enforcement agencies where required

What We’re Looking For

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum Grade C (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English Language
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience working within a similar Health & Safety role
  • Experience delivering Health & Safety briefings or training
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate reports
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience liaising with external enforcement agencies
  • Experience working within an agricultural or land-based environment
