Think FE are working with a well-respected and career-focused college in Essex to recruit a Hospitality Technician to support the day-to-day running of a busy professional training kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a hospitality or catering background who enjoys organisation as much as working in a kitchen environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring practical lessons run smoothly by supporting Chef Lecturers, managing stock, and keeping the kitchen fully equipped and organised.
Responsibilities
- Managing the day‑to‑day operation of the training kitchens
- Supporting Chef Lecturers with practical sessions
- Ordering food, ingredients, and kitchen supplies
- Monitoring stock levels and maintaining inventory
- Ensuring food is stored correctly and stock is rotated appropriately
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and organisation
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries
- Helping create a professional learning environment for students
What we’re looking for
- Experience working within a professional kitchen, hospitality, or catering environment
- Strong organisational and stock management skills
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience supporting training or educational environments is desirable but not essential
