Construction Technician
Permanent | 37 hours per week | Northamptonshire | Β£24,500 per annum

A specialist, industry-focused further education college in Northamptonshire is looking to appoint a Construction Technician to support the delivery of practical construction teaching. The college is recognised for its strong technical and vocational provision, excellent industry links, and high-quality specialist learning environments that help students develop real-world skills.

The Role
Working closely with teaching staff, you will ensure workshops are fully prepared, safe and ready for practical lessons. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing construction workshops, tools, equipment and materials for practical sessions
  • Maintaining tools and equipment to a high standard
  • Managing stock, ordering materials and keeping accurate records
  • Completing minor repairs and general workshop maintenance
  • Ensuring workshops remain clean, organised and compliant with health and safety requirements
  • Supporting students during practical activities where required

What do you need?

We're interested in candidates from a range of construction backgrounds, including those with experience in education or industry.
Essential requirements:
  • Experience within construction or building services
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of workshop health and safety
  • Good organisational and practical maintenance skills
