Trainer Assessor in Plumbing

Salary: £39,056 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 37 hours per week
Think FE is working with a highly regarded vocational college in Warwickshire that has strong links with local and national employers across the construction sector.
The college is looking for an experienced Plumbing professional to join its Work Based Learning team as a Trainer Assessor in Plumbing. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong industry experience who enjoys supporting apprentices, working with employers and helping learners progress towards successful completion of their qualifications.
The role
You will work closely with apprentices, employers and college teams to support learners throughout their programme, carrying out workplace assessments, progress reviews and mentoring.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing learners in the workplace against relevant NVQ standards
- Carrying out formal progress reviews with learners and employers
- Supporting apprentices with their academic and vocational development
- Liaising with employers and other assessors to ensure learners have suitable opportunities to demonstrate competence
- Helping to coordinate work placements and employment opportunities
- Supporting the development of strong relationships with industry
- Monitoring the quality of training delivered by subcontractors
- Supporting recruitment and promotional activity where required
- Contributing to bespoke training opportunities that meet employer needs
You may also occasionally support with exam invigilation during busy periods, with training provided.
What we’re looking for
You will need:
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing, or an equivalent apprenticeship qualification
- Recent and extensive industry experience within plumbing
- Strong technical knowledge of the trade
- A good working knowledge of Health & Safety
- Experience working with employers or industry partners
- A full UK driving licence with no major endorsements
- Good administrative and IT skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity
An Assessor qualification such as A1, or equivalent, is desirable. Applicants who do not currently hold this may still be considered if they are willing to achieve it within their first 12 months.
Applicants without GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent, may also be considered where they are willing to achieve these within the first 12 months.
