Programme Manager – Construction Think FE are recruiting for an experienced Programme Manager in Construction to join a well-established further education college in Berkshire. The college has a strong technical and vocational focus, modern industry-standard construction facilities and close links with employers, giving learners the practical skills and experience they need to progress into employment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced FE construction professional who is ready to take on greater curriculum and leadership responsibility while retaining some teaching contact. The role As Programme Manager, you will oversee provision across Plumbing and Carpentry, taking responsibility for the effective day-to-day management and quality of these curriculum areas. Alongside your management responsibilities, you will maintain a teaching commitment of approximately 10 hours per week, allowing you to remain closely connected to learners and curriculum delivery. Your responsibilities will include: Leading and supporting teaching staff across Plumbing and Carpentry Overseeing curriculum delivery and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning Monitoring learner progress, achievement and engagement Supporting curriculum planning, development and quality improvement Ensuring provision remains relevant to industry expectations and learner progression Contributing to the wider leadership and development of the Construction department Delivering approximately 10 hours of teaching each week What we're looking for The college is looking for someone with a strong further education background and practical knowledge of the Construction curriculum. You will ideally have: A Level 3 qualification or above in Plumbing, Carpentry or a closely related discipline Approximately 3–4 years' teaching experience within a further education environment Experience delivering Construction provision to FE learners The confidence to lead, support and develop curriculum teams Strong organisational and communication skills A commitment to high-quality vocational education and positive learner outcomes Previous curriculum leadership or management experience would be particularly valuable, although experienced lecturers ready to progress into programme management are also encouraged to apply where they can demonstrate the appropriate skills.
