A Leading Further Education Provider in Northampton is seeking an experienced Plumbing and Heating Assessor to support the next generation of skilled tradespeople. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for conducting workplace assessments for plumbing apprentices, ensuring they meet the standards outlined in apprenticeship frameworks. You will provide personalised feedback and guidance to learners, helping them progress and succeed in their qualifications. This role is ideal for a skilled industry professional with a passion for training and development, who enjoys working directly with apprentices and employers in real workplace settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out high-quality workplace assessments in line with apprenticeship standards
  • Provide tailored support and constructive feedback to learners
  • Monitor and record learner progress using e-portfolios and digital platforms
  • Coordinate assessment visits with employers and training providers
  • Travel regularly to various sites across the region to conduct assessments
  • Ensure all assessments align with awarding body and regulatory guidelines
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of learner progress and outcomes

Essential Requirements:

  • A relevant vocational qualification in Plumbing and Heating (Level 3 or above)
  • Assessor qualification (TAQA, CAVA, or A1)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Recent and relevant industry experience
  • Strong communication and feedback skills
  • Experience working with qualification and assessment frameworks and external bodies
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills

Desirable:

  • A Level 4 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards this)
