About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a passionate SEND specialist to join a supportive and inclusive further education college in South Yorkshire. You will deliver high quality teaching, learning and support to learners with complex needs, ensuring excellent progress and person centred outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging programmes for learners with SEND, including Autism, SLD and PMLD.
  • Develop personalised support plans, adapting resources and teaching strategies for individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, parents/carers and external agencies to support learner development.
  • Maintain accurate records, contribute to reviews and ensure safeguarding best practice at all times.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that inspires confidence and independence.

What do you need?

  • A recognised teaching qualification such as a Level 4 Award in Education & Training, PGCE or Cert Ed.
  • Minimum Level 2 (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • A degree in a relevant subject, with QTS or QTLS status.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting learners with SEND, particularly Autism, SLD, and PMLD.
  • A commitment to inclusive practice and delivering outstanding learner experiences.
  • Confidence in signing to aid communication and/or additional SEND-specific qualifications would be a distinct advantage.
  • Previous experience in a further education setting is highly desirable.
