Transitions Assistant
Location: Northamptonshire
Salary: £26,366 - £27,168 (£21,802.65 - £22,465.84 per annum pro rata)
Contract: Fixed term until July 2027
Interviews: Week commencing 26 October 2026
We are recruiting for a Transitions Assistant to join a supportive further education college in Northamptonshire.
You will work closely with students, families, Local Authorities, schools and college staff to ensure prospective learners receive a smooth, personalised transition into college.
A key focus of the role will be supporting and advocating for students with SEND, ensuring transition plans reflect individual needs, EHCPs and funding arrangements.
The role
You will:
- Support students from initial enquiry through to becoming settled on the right course
- Develop tailored transition plans based on individual needs
- Liaise with parents, carers, Local Authorities, schools and college teams
- Review and work with EHCP information
- Advocate for SEND learners and ensure appropriate support is in place
- Visit local schools and other settings where required
Who are we looking for?
- Experience working with SEND students or young people
- A good understanding of EHCPs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A supportive, practical and organised approach
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
