Location: County Durham

Salary: £30,305 per annum plus:

  • Market Rate Supplement (MRS): £6,000 per annum (subject to biennial review)
  • Recruitment & Retention Payment: £5,000
  • Potential earnings package: £41,305 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Apprenticeship Skills Co-ordinator (Electrical Installation) to support Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices throughout their learning journey, helping them achieve their apprenticeship successfully while building strong relationships with employers.

The Role

You'll play a key role in supporting apprentices both in the workplace and at college, ensuring they develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to complete their apprenticeship on time. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of Electrical Installation apprentices.
  • Carrying out workplace assessments, observations and progress reviews.
  • Supporting apprentices with portfolio evidence and achievement.
  • Providing coaching, guidance and constructive feedback.
  • Working closely with employers to monitor progress and identify support needs.
  • Maintaining accurate learner records using college systems.
  • Supporting Gateway preparation and End Point Assessment planning.
  • Contributing to employer engagement, recruitment events and promotional activities.
  • Supporting the development of maths and English where appropriate.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

  • A recognised Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation.
  • Experience working within the electrical industry.
  • Experience supporting or assessing apprentices or vocational learners.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with employers and learners.
  • An assessor qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • A teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one if required.
