Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

Think FE are working with a welcoming college in Tyne and Wear who are looking for an Electrical Engineering Lecturer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong industry experience who is ready to take the next step into teaching. Teaching experience is not essential, as the college can support industry professionals who have the right technical knowledge and a genuine interest in helping learners develop.

The role

You will be delivering Electrical Engineering across Level 4/5 programmes, supporting learners to build the practical and technical skills they need for industry. You will cover areas including:

  • Electrical principles and power systems
  • Industrial installation and maintenance
  • Fault diagnosis and testing techniques
  • Motors, drives and control systems
  • PLCs and automation fundamentals
  • Electrical drawings and schematics
  • Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Industry regulations, compliance and health and safety

What do you need?

  • HNC/HND Level 4/5 qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Relevant industrial experience within electrical engineering, manufacturing, energy, maintenance or a similar sector
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation, maintenance and fault finding
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and safe systems of work
  • A willingness to support and develop learners
