An established and highly regarded further education college in Northamptonshire is looking for an Animal Welfare Technician and Learner Supervisor to join their dedicated land-based and animal care provision. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on animal welfare experience who is passionate about supporting learners as they develop practical industry skills. You’ll play a key role in maintaining high standards of animal care while helping students gain valuable commercial and practical experience within a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Look after the health, care and welfare of animals kept within the Animal Welfare Centre
- Maintain teaching materials, practical resources and equipment within the centre
- Supervise learners during their commercial and practical experience activities
- Provide verbal and written feedback to support learner development and progression
- Support the delivery of a safe, inclusive and industry-focused learning environment
- Assist with planning and maintaining high-quality practical learning experiences
What We’re Looking For
- A Level 3 qualification in an animal-related subject or relevant equivalent experience
- Experience working within the animal welfare industry
- Confidence working with a wide range of animals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to support, motivate and guide learners effectively
- Organised and able to work to deadlines within a busy environment
