A respected and forward-thinking further education college in Northamptonshire is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead its professional catering operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an established chef looking to step away from the demands of traditional hospitality and enjoy a healthier work-life balance while leading a busy, high-quality kitchen.

You'll primarily oversee the college's bistro while also supporting catering across other campus outlets and external VIP events. As the kitchen operates as a training environment, you'll also play an important role in supporting and mentoring catering students as they develop their practical skills. The Role

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the college's catering facilities.
  • Manage and support the wider kitchen team.
  • Deliver high-quality food across the bistro and other college catering outlets.
  • Work within the training kitchen, providing guidance and encouragement to hospitality students.
  • Lead catering for external functions and VIP events.
  • Ensure excellent standards of food quality, hygiene, health and safety.
  • Manage stock control, ordering, menu planning and kitchen budgets.

What do you need?

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or a highly experienced Sous Chef ready to step up.
  • Confidence managing a busy commercial kitchen and leading a team.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • A passion for developing others within a training environment.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) (desirable).
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to tow a catering trailer for external events.
