Student Records and Data Lead Location: Gloucester Salary: £31,457.54–£33,472.35 per annum Contract: One-year fixed-term maternity cover Hours: 37 hours per week, predominantly office-based
Experienced in leading an administration team and making processes work better?
Think FE is recruiting a Student Records and Data Lead for a further education college in Gloucestershire. This role combines people management, accurate data and process improvement, supporting the team responsible for student records, timetables and enrolment.
You’ll join an established student data team in Gloucester, close to Gloucester Quays, and deputise for the Student Data Manager when required.
The role
- Supervise, mentor and support data administrators, managing performance and developing their skills.
- Coordinate enrolment activity and train staff involved in the enrolment process.
- Keep student records accurate and up to date, supporting Individualised Learner Record (ILR) deadlines and resolving data queries.
- Work with curriculum teams to resolve issues relating to timetables, attendance and student records.
- Review data quality reports, coordinate audit evidence and support compliance with funding requirements.
- Improve administrative processes and support colleagues using Power Apps and Power Automate to streamline work.
- Provide guidance on systems and procedures, working closely with Exams, Student Services and Finance.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have recent experience leading an administrative team in a customer-focused organisation, with examples of improving processes, reducing errors and increasing efficiency.
Strong IT skills are essential, including confidence using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases. You’ll also need close attention to detail, clear communication skills and the ability to investigate data issues and find practical solutions.
Experience in education administration, knowledge of data protection and a Level 3 management qualification would be advantageous. However, previous college experience is desirable rather than essential, and applicants with relevant leadership experience from other sectors are welcome.
You must be willing to undertake required training and an Enhanced DBS check, and travel between college sites if needed.
Benefits
- 32 days’ annual leave, increasing to 37 days after five years’ service.
- People’s Pension scheme with a 4%–5% matched contribution.
- An established team and a paperless working environment.
- The opportunity to develop your management experience and improve services that support students.
