The Role
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective GCSE English lessons to predominantly 16–18-year-old learners, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to achieve their qualifications. The role can be based across Cheltenham, Gloucester or Cinderford, depending on the successful candidate's availability and the college's requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality GCSE English lessons to learners aged 16–18.
- Plan, prepare and assess engaging learning activities.
- Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Support learners to achieve positive outcomes and build confidence in English.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
Applicants should ideally have:
- A degree in English.
- A recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE.
The college will also consider candidates with:
- Level 3 English and a PGCE.
- Level 3 English with another recognised teaching qualification.
Contract Details
- Temporary position.
- 37 hours per week.
- Start date: 24 August 2026 (ASAP availability also considered).
- Expected duration: Until October half term 2026 in the first instance.
