Supported Internship Programme

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Cheltenham

Contract: Temporary role until permanent appointment is made, with potential to transition to permanent

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: £15.98 per hour

Think FE are proud to be working with an esteemed college in Gloucestershire who are seeking a dedicated Employment Mentor to provide high quality support to students on our Supported Internship programme.

You will:

  • Provide job coaching to Supported Internship students while they are at their work placements
  • Support classroom sessions one day per week, delivering employability based activity and guidance
  • Liaise with employers to gather performance feedback, facilitate target setting and monitor progress
  • Work closely with the wider Foundation Studies department to observe and track potential interns for the next year’s cohort

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience of working with young people (ideally those with SEND, additional support needs or in transition into employment)
  • Confident and competent in IT: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other digital tools for recording and reporting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills able to build rapport with students, colleagues and external employers
  • Organised and proactive approach to travel, time management and multi site engagement
  • A commitment to inclusive practice, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young adults
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential for off site travel)
  • Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent)
