Animal Management Technician – Greater Manchester Salary: £24,710 – £28,318 per annum (Full Time) Are you passionate about animal welfare and keen to play a key role in educating the next generation of animal management professionals? An Ofsted-rated Good Further Education College in Greater Manchester is seeking a dedicated Animal Management Technician to join its growing team. About the Role You’ll be working within the Animal Management department at a brand-new, purpose-built animal management facility. Your primary focus will be supporting the team to ensure the health, welfare, and enrichment of a diverse range of animals, including small mammals, exotics, and potentially larger species and aquatics. You’ll also assist during practical lessons, helping students handle and care for the animals safely and correctly. This is a hands-on role that requires a flexible, proactive approach. You’ll be involved in daily animal husbandry tasks, maintaining enclosures, feeding regimes, and record keeping to high welfare standards. You will also be required to travel between sites, so a full driving licence and your own vehicle are essential. Who are we Looking For Previous experience in a similar role within animal management, ideally within an educational setting. Proven ability to work with a wide range of animals, ideally including small mammals and/or exotics. Experience with large animals, aquatics, or dog grooming would be advantageous. Strong organisational skills, with a genuine passion for animal care and student support. Flexibility to travel between sites as needed, with full driving license and own car. Happy to undergo Enhanced DBS check including Child Barred list upon successful appointment to the role. What’s on offer? A competitive salary of £24,710 – £28,318 per annum.
