An established and highly regarded further education college in Northamptonshire is looking for an Animal Welfare Technician and Learner Supervisor to join their dedicated land‑based and animal care provision. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands‑on animal welfare experience who is passionate about supporting learners as they develop practical industry skills. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of animal care while helping students gain valuable commercial and practical experience within a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Look after the health, care and welfare of animals kept within the Animal Welfare Centre
  • Maintain teaching materials, practical resources and equipment within the centre
  • Supervise learners during their commercial and practical experience activities
  • Provide verbal and written feedback to support learner development and progression
  • Support the delivery of a safe, inclusive and industry-focused learning environment
  • Assist with planning and maintaining high-quality practical learning experiences

What We’re Looking For

  • A Level 3 qualification in an animal-related subject or relevant equivalent experience
  • Experience working within the animal welfare industry
  • Confidence working with a wide range of animals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to support, motivate and guide learners effectively
  • Organised and able to work to deadlines within a busy environment
