About the Role: Inspiring Adult Learners in Maths

Are you a passionate educator dedicated to helping adult learners succeed in Mathematics? We are seeking a Functional Skills Maths Tutor to deliver engaging education, both online and in person. If you hold a Teaching Qualification (Level 3 or above) and have proven experience in adult education, this is an excellent opportunity to empower learners and make a lasting impact.

Main Purpose of the Role

As a Functional Skills Maths Tutor, your main purpose is to empower adult learners to achieve their Maths qualifications. You will provide tailored teaching, clear guidance, and constructive feedback to support them in reaching their personal and professional goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging online and in-person Maths sessions to ensure high learner progress.
  • Assess learner starting points and create personalised learning plans (ILPs) with clear targets.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on learner assessments to support their development.
  • Deliver informative induction sessions to prepare learners for their course.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide additional support to help them overcome challenges.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant learner records in the CRM system (Zoho CRM), ensuring adherence to GDPR.
  • Uphold and promote best practices in safeguarding, prevention, and health and safety.
  • Adapt teaching resources to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with additional challenges.
  • Contribute to curriculum improvements to ensure content remains relevant.
  • Participate in CPD, team meetings, and quality assurance processes.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

  • Teaching Qualification – Level 3 or above.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering adult education programmes.
  • Experience providing effective online and virtual classroom teaching.
  • ICT qualification (minimum Level 2).
  • Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Solid understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, health and safety, and compliance requirements.

Highly Desirable

  • Teaching Qualification – Level 5.
  • Experience delivering Functional Skills in Maths specifically to adult learners.
  • Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) qualification at Level 2 or above.
  • Customer service experience or a relevant qualification.
