As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and complex learning difficulties. Working closely with class teachers and SENCO teams, you will help create an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
This role is also a fantastic opportunity for those currently studying childcare, education, psychology or a related field who are looking for flexible part-time work to gain hands-on experience with children and young people with special needs.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Assisting with personal care and daily living skills where required
- Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to progress reviews
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)
- A patient, calm and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
