A high performing school in East London is seeking an experienced and committed SENCO (Special Needs Co‑ordinator) from September. This is a key appointment within a well established school community, offering the opportunity to lead and develop SEND provision with a strong focus on inclusion, pupil outcomes and whole school impact. The role would suit an experienced SENCO looking for a permanent position, though there is also flexibility to consider a short term appointment (autumn term) for a senior leader between roles.
The Role
- Lead and manage SEND provision across the school
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practice
- Work closely with SLT to drive inclusive teaching and learning
- Support staff in developing effective strategies for pupils with additional needs
- Build strong relationships with families and external agencies
The Candidate
- Qualified SENCo (or working towards the qualification)
- Experience within a secondary school setting
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive practice
