A specialist school setting supporting children and young people aged 2–19 with complex needs, physical disabilities and medical requirements is seeking three dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join the team from September.

The setting provides a highly nurturing, structured and therapeutic approach to learning, with a strong emphasis on personalised support and holistic development.

  • 2 posts – temporary until October Half Term 2026
  • 1 post – temporary until Christmas 2026

The Opportunity

These roles are ideal for people who are passionate about supporting children with complex and physical needs and who thrive in a hands‑on, child‑centred environment.

No formal SEN, Teaching Assistant or care qualification is required, however recent experience of supporting children or young people with complex needs or physical disabilities is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality support to pupils aged 2–19 with a range of complex and physical needs.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, physical support and communication needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver tailored learning and care plans.
  • Support pupils in accessing learning activities, sensory programmes and therapeutic interventions.
  • Promote independence, emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Contribute to wider learning experiences, including enrichment activities and structured routines.
